Their customer service, particularly in tech support, is as virtually non-existant as our virtual private server! I’m going through an outage right now because they decided to migrate one of our virtual private (pricey) servers in the middle of the week. When their tech support rep is over his/her head they terminate the chat session – you start again and they pretend there is no way to get back on track so you have to start to explain your technical issue all over. I got crafty and began mirroring the chat so that I could just uploaded to the next tech support person. I’m so dissappointed that I’m planning to take all 3 of our domains somewhere else. STAY AWAY!! Big company with big arrogant attitude!

I am in the same boat, 7 domains down now for over 32 hours.

Everything they said abot the migration has been incorrect.

The last message from them was it will be working in the next 2 hours, that was 6 hours ago.

    The live chat isn’t working.

I have never seen a project handled as badly as this. If they didn’t have a clue about web use and email, you might understand why they decided to move midweek. The whold thing must have been so badly managed it is now just a big mess and the don’t seem to be able to cope.

Call Apollo for support and it is always the same: “It’s not our fault, you have a virus, you have a browser hijacker, you’ve been hacked? Can’t help you, lost the data on the hacker, sorry!” Numerous outages, never announced. Email works when it feels like it, sent emails not saved, lost emails, blocked incoming mail (without Spam filter), spam filter traps incoming emails waiting for “human intervention”…but only if you know something is in the trap. It goes on and on. Do not sign up, run away as fast as you can.

I have been with Apollo Hosting for over 10 years and not at all happy with their customer support. When I started, and I believe it was under different ownership, I thought they were the center of all things on the web. They were great.

Now the overseas tech support knows little or nothing about the inner workings of the server and its virus protection program. They don’t know what’s wrong ever and say the problem is on your end. That turns out to never be true and then finally after 5 or more chats with their so-called tech staff you bump into someone who knows what the problem is.

The latest thing is a common programming term – I think it is inframe. They decided because it is used be hackers they will key their virus program to remove it. Only problem is my dropdown menu uses it. So when I publish to the server it deletes my index file. Nice, And they refuse to fix the problem saying it will put the entire network in jeopardy – BS.

If I did not have so much time invested in the site I would have left years ago.

Don’t walk … run away from Apollo Hosting.
