Maybe you can try changing the output to pal or ntsc depending on where you are (on the input settings page).. also 4:3 ratio Is good for normal screens like tv’s..this is on the output settings page..

I want to convert a DVD to an AVI; however, I only want a 5 minute segment out of a 40 minute short film that I directed. Will DVDx allow me to do this during the encoding process? Is there a link on you website that will answer this question? Thanks.

  19. moonoftheeternal says:

on the dvd decyripte,r you chose file f, on other tutorials ive seen, its says choose ifo i. When you do your option, does it affect the dvd anyway? Will the dvd still work?

  20. Computerbasics says:

@moonoftheeternal It still works for me… I have a newer video to show how to convert dvd to avi or whatever and it is much easier than this…DVD decrypter is getting out of date..

  21. moonoftheeternal says:

@Computerbasics oh ok ill take a look, thanks, most people don’t respond! X

  22. viperpulse says:

DVD Decryptor and DVDx are not really out of date, I mean they are completely free and get the job done like a piece of cake! DVDx takes a while to rip depending on your settings, but that’s because it is ripping and encoding to AVI. It’s doing both tasks at once, so it takes a while, but the quality is worth it. I still use these programs and have never switched to anything else. One other I use is DVD Shrink to re-author ripped DVDs.

  23. tackypopstar says:

Thanks so much… I’m really thick at this sort of stuff… even I managed to do it!! Hooray!!! xxx

  24. scottybarr1980 says:

  25. xXxLAMBOFGOD12xXx says:

Why is it that when I click on Output Settings, DVDx crashes??? :(
