Website Design Tips And Tricks
Here are some tips for internet website design to make your site easier for visitors to navigate and also what will make your site better according to search engines like Google, MSN Live, etc.
- Website Navigation: Code your website pages so they load fast. Use familiar terms for the actual pages as shown on the navigation bar or menu like: Home, Contact, About Us, etc.
- Website Layout: Use nothing smaller than a 10pt font for your articles. Sans serif is a good choice for ease of reading. For easy reading; make sure your pages and text contrast each other. For example; use black text on a white background or any other color that will stand out easily for readers. Break up many sentences into smaller paragraphs or blocks of text. Test all your websites in various browsers to make sure they look right.
- Website Branding: Make sure every page includes your logo in the header or somewhere prominent. Make your entire header a link to your Home page. Add a brief description of what your site is about in the header. Make that description keyword rich if the header is text as opposed to an image. Use alt tags with keywords if its an image. Put a copyright on the bottom of every page. Have a clear link to the Home page near the top of every page and at the bottom of every page.
- Website Content: Use normal conversational language with all your articles. Write the way you talk should be the rule because its easier for visitors to read. Use your spell checker. If your site is a tech site, then be sure to use the appropriate technical jargon for that genre.
- Website Links: Bold your text links. Don’t just make your links say “Click Here”. Instead, use keyword rich anchor text in all your links. If your target keyword for a given page is the word ” internet website design ” for example, then make sure you have at least one text link on that page weaved appropriately in your text with the words internet website design …just like I did there! Its also a good idea to put ‘no follow’ tags in your affiliate links so they don’t leak juice. Lastly, check to make sure all your links are actually working before moving on to the next project.
