I have had no problems using Yahoo for my web hosting company. It may be a little bit more expensive than some of the other hosts but it offers plenty more services.

In Oct. of 2007 I cancelled my “Skooltoons/Cartoons of scienceeducation” website. However there was a glitch. I had paid a fee for a “forwarding website address, ie. “Cartoons of scienceeducation” which was a means of better attracting viewers of either cartoons or scienceeducation issues. The forwarding address, I was led to believe was just a means of forwarding a viewer to the originally named domain address, “Skooltoons”. When I meant to cancel the whole web-hosting plan, I cancelled the “Skooltoons” (original domain name)but that didn’t cancel the plan because I made no mention of the forwarding domain name, “Cartoons of scienceeducation.” Unaware of this although still being billed up to yesterday’s date (3/19/09) my wife yesterday who handles our credit card statements asked me about the Yahoo bill. I called Yahoo and the rep. I spoke to was adamant that although I had not used the website and had deleted all images and typography from it since 10/2007, I still was being charged all that time. The rep. offered to refund me back 3 of the last most recent months, but that was obviously very disappointing to me. The rep told me that I would have an email confirmation of the final cancellation within an hour at my Yahoo email address and my Comcast email address. As of today, 3/19, I still have not received that confirmation. When I phoned Yahoo today, I heard a recorded message that there was at least a 30 min. wait. I gave up in frustration.
I feel cheated and I would not recommend Yahoo web-hosting services to anyone else. Also, after cancelling with the rep. yesterday and getting on the Yahoo small business website area, I found that since I was no longer on a billable account that I would not be given an opportunity (no phone nos. were offered) to contact Yahoo billing by phone. Fortunately, I had retained that number from the day before. My impression is that Yahoo web-hosting cares only to make make money and cares little about customer complaints and satisfaction.
